About the Role
The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in the overall operation and financial
performance of the San Leandro location. This includes staff leadership, guest experience, food and beverage
quality, compliance, cleanliness, and profitability.
This is a full-time, exempt management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist GM in leading, training, scheduling, and coaching taproom staff to deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service consistency, and guest satisfaction
- Assist GM with oversight of inventory management and ordering
- Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and tip reporting
- Collaborate with GM on SOP development and operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including ABC regulations and health and safety standards
- Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- With GM, monitor and report on key performance indicators, including sales, labor, and inventory metrics.
- Manage vendor relationships related to taproom operations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years managing a high-volume food & beverage operation ($3–5M annual revenue preferred)
- Strong leadership, accountability, and coaching skills
- Ability to manage financial performance, labor metrics, and operational systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of draft systems and basic maintenance (preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Adaptability and sound decision-making under pressure
- 21+ years of age
- Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record (if driving is required)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods
- Working knowledge of California health, sanitation, and ABC laws
Compensation and Classification
- Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience)
- Bonus Eligibility: Quarterly performance-based bonus potential
- Meal and rest breaks provided in compliance with California labor laws.
