About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and hospitality-driven Manager-on-Duty to help lead daily operations at our Montgomery Village location. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends service, training, and teamwork — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys guiding a passionate, guest-focused team.
As a Manager-on-Duty, you’ll support the General Manager in overseeing front-of-house operations, ensuring an outstanding experience for every guest, and maintaining the high standards that define the Fieldwork brand.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily service operations and ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
Deliver and model exceptional hospitality and professionalism in all guest interactions.
Supervise, train, and support team members to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.
Oversee cash handling, tip reporting, and daily opening/closing procedures.
Monitor alcohol service in compliance with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) standards.
Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and occupational safety standards are consistently followed.
Communicate effectively with the General Manager and leadership team regarding staffing, operations, and guest feedback.
Foster teamwork and uphold company culture through positive, solution-oriented leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older (per California law for alcohol service).
Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or lead experience in hospitality, taproom, or restaurant settings.
Valid California Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
RBS certification required prior to or upon hire.
Excellent communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
Ability to stand and move for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Classification
Pay Range: $19.87/hr + tips (commensurate with experience)
Classification: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime pay)
Meal and rest breaks provided in compliance with California labor laws.
