Fieldwork Associate (Part-Time)

Company: Fieldwork Brewing Company
Location: Napa, CA — Oxbow Public Market (Annex Building)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

About Fieldwork Brewing Company

Founded in 2015 in Berkeley, CA, Fieldwork Brewing Company is an independent craft brewery known for exceptional, honest beer making and an ever-changing lineup of fresh releases. Over the past decade, Fieldwork has grown across Northern California, building community-driven locations that pair award-winning beer with thoughtful hospitality.

Our Napa location first opened in 2017 inside the Oxbow Public Market and now operates from the Annex building, featuring a spacious outdoor beer garden. Alongside our craft beer, wine selections, and non-alcoholic offerings, we are preparing to reopen our food program, centered around Detroit-style pizza and shareable menu items.

This role requires active participation in both guest service and food service.

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, hospitality-driven Fieldwork Associates to join our Napa team. This is a hands-on role in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys engaging guests, working collaboratively, and supporting both front-of-house service and kitchen operations.

If anticipating guest needs before they ask — and delivering an exceptional experience — excites you, this role may be a great fit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent guest service, including greeting guests, taking orders, running food and beverages, opening and closing checks, and clearing tables.

  • Actively participate in food service, including preparing and assembling menu items (including Detroit-style pizza) according to company standards.

  • Accurately input orders into the POS system and handle payments.

  • Maintain full knowledge of current beer, food, and non-alcoholic offerings, including ingredients and allergens.

  • Educate guests on beer styles, food offerings, and pairings.

  • Follow all Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and ABC alcohol service regulations.

  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.

  • Complete daily side work, prep tasks, and cleaning duties.

  • Follow all checklists and standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain a professional, positive demeanor with guests, coworkers, and management.

  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and assist with shift coverage as needed.

  • Attend required trainings and meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • Sunday, Monday, and holiday availability required.

  • Prior experience in a bar, restaurant, brewery, winery, or hospitality environment preferred.

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Food Handler Card and RBS certification.

  • Working knowledge of craft beer is a plus, but not required.

  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and reach for up to 8 hours per shift.

  • Comfortable working in busy, confined spaces while maintaining professionalism.

Compensation

  • Hourly Pay Range: $16.50/hour ($16.90/hr beginning 2026)

  • Tips: Additional tip income earned per shift via tip pool

  • Overtime, meal periods, and rest breaks provided in accordance with California labor law
